NCCP Level 1 Technical Clinic Opportunity

posted Nov 27, 2012, 8:16 AM by Eugene Lee   [ updated Nov 27, 2012, 8:26 AM ]
The ODBA (Ottawa District Badminton Association) is planning on hosting an NCCP Level 1 Technical Clinic on the weekend of Jan 26/27th, 2013, at the cost of approximately $75.00.

The Holy Trinity Badminton Club is looking for 1 person (and only 1 person) to attend this clinic.  As an affiliated ODBA club, we can send up to 1 person where $100 of the original $175 cost is subsidized.  Please note that successfully completing the Level 1 Technical Clinic is only 1 component to be an NCCP Level 1 Coach.  I believe the components are Technical, Theory, Practical, and Test - please correct me if I'm wrong.

To take the NCCP Clinic, there is a minimum badminton skill level requirement to learn how to teach badminton, and if you are an HTBC level 4 or 5, we believe you meet this minimum required level.  If you are interested, please send me an email to eugene.lee@odba.ca.

Here are the details about the clinic:

When: Sat Jan 26th & Sun Jan 27th
Time: 9am to 5pm both days
Location: RA Centre
Course Conductor: Kevin Willington
Cost: $75 (with $100 subsidized)
Deadline to Reply: December 2nd, 2012

What's in it for HTBC?  Well, we need coaches to work with the level 1 and 2s on learning proper techniques (ie holding the racket, footwork, strategy, backhand drops).  We will be asking the person we send on this clinic to please work with Mike and I on using the 2nd gym to apply what they have learned.

On Sunday, December 2nd, at 1pm, I will do a random draw from all of the interested (and, qualified) participants.  As of 12pm Tues Nov 27th, there are a total of 3 interested participants.

Any questions?
